Top 5 Reasons I Need To Make It Big

1- I really, really love jewels and gemstones. So much it hurts. With that said—most occupations frown upon, say my new antique rhinestone watch, as everyday attire. Hmph.

2- I don’t like maneuvering with the masses. Under most circumstances, you couldn’t pay me to go to a stadium-filled concert (Dolly excluded, obv)…but I still like to partake in the fun. Private concert at Versailles anyone?

3- Sometimes, weekly manicures are the only thing that makes the world tolerable.

4- I want to be able to wear what I want, where I want, at any time I want. In other words, caftans and diamonds all day/err day.

5- I would do really nice things. Charitable things. I’ve already gotten my platforms figured out actually, just in case you’re wondering.

Top 5 Things I’ve Inherited From My Mother

1- Little to no self-control when presented with beautiful things….and the ability to pinpoint the tiniest differences between what I want and already own. So what if I already have 3 pointy-toed black pumps? These have a TEXTURED heel!!

2- A quick wit and sharp sense of humor that keeps the bullies at bay. Word to the wise, don’t start something you can’t finish.***

3- I’m a mean, mean, mean hungry person.

4- Silliness and a playful ease around children. You’re Big Bird and I’m Oscar the Grouch? Cool, just give me a sec to hop into the garbage can.

5- Ridiculously good looks. Kidding. Well, maybe. All I know is a stranger once called me out as her daughter, so there’s definitely a resemblance.

***A gift passed down from my ace of a grandpa.

Top 5 Things That Secretly Annoy Me…Until Now

1- Complaints about the amount of advertising in fashion magazines. Um hello, that’s the best part!! It’s the quickest/easiest way to pinpoint new aesthetics for the season and, quite honestly, is just really pretty!

2- When people proudly espouse opinions that are held by the general public. Yes, if you go in Wal-Mart you will most likely encounter interesting sides of humanity…and the root ingredients used by Taco Bell are probably found in tire rubber and petrol. Tell me something I don’t know.

3- Recipes. Just another form of being told what to do.

4- Group texts. As most of you probably know, I’m not a phone person…and every time that dadblamed notification goes off it stresses me out. Plus, there’s always that one person who doesn’t know when to let it go.

5- Men who always let their wives dress them, no questions asked. First of all, get some opinions and a backbone. Secondly, leave the mothering to your mother.

Top 5 Reasons I Didn’t Blog

1- I went to Vegas and was too busy searching high and low for Prince Harry.

2- I visited my grandma in rural South Carolina. She has a dial-up internet connection…’nuff said.

3- I had a gig in San Francisco. I was in perma-shock from the climate and couldn’t write (60 degrees in JULY…are you freaking kidding me?!).

4- I watched a live taping of America’s Got Talent and was thisclose to Scary Spice and Howard Stern. It takes a while to get over something like that.

5- I got a new JOB! Time is now limited…but beauty products are flowing like wine—Masques, Moisturizers, and Minerals…oh my!

Top 5 Things That Always Throw Me Off

1- Not being able to pump your own gas in New Jersey…it just feels so retro.

2- Hearing “Chuck Bass” from Gossip Girl speak in a British accent…how can this be?!

3- People who thoroughly wash dishes before placing them in the dish washer…how am I supposed to know if they’re clean or dirty?!

4- Short action stars à la Tom Cruise, Mark Wahlberg, and Robert Downey, Jr…I guess the camera really does add 6 inches.

5- The fact that Gwen Stefani is three years younger than my mother…and six years older than Kate Winslet. Fairly certain Mrs. Rossdale has sold her soul to Satan.

Top 5 Things I Complain About

1- The constant need for my electronics to be charged. Needy much?!?!

2- The remarkable ability for the ONE item I need to somehow disappear in my closet. WHERE IS THAT BLACK TANK?

3- The lack of air conditioners in New York City. This southern girl likes to live life at a cool 70 degrees (when inside, of course).

4- Bad manicures. If I wanted it to look like a 5-year-old painted my nails, I would do it myself.

5- The opinionated uninformed. Just STFU already, mmk?

Top 5 Things I Just Can’t Give Up

1- My side of the bed….don’t even try, boo.

2- Funfetti icing…it just tastes so good!

3- Mani/Pedis…skipping lunch is so totally worth it.

4- Rihanna…I’m so upset about her life decisions—but love her so much!

5- My tween crush on Joshua Jackson…it will happen!!

Top 5 Items Worth The Save

1- Hand soap. Buy a delightful little dispenser and then stock up on the huge dollar store refills (to be stored out of sight, of course).

2- Decorative bowls/glass. These things are often priced outrageously…and you can typically find beautiful pieces at any thrift store for mere pennies.

3- Halloween costumes. The pre-packaged options are both ridiculously expensive and ridiculously cheap! Get creative and have a quality, original, and tasteful get-up!

4- Lipstick. While I also adore department store brands, the drug store stuff works just fine!

5- Summer sandals. These things are going to get beat up, washed up, and danced over by the time the the season is over…save your money so you don’t stress about it until fall!

Top 5 Items Worth The Splurge

1- Pricey concealer. The drug store liquid stuff is absolutely worthless, while better brands can completely transform your face.

2- A beautiful winter coat. First of all, you wear one almost every day in the most loathsome of seasons…pick something that will cheer you up! In addition, people rarely see the outfit below.

3- Sneakers. Anything that will encourage you (i.e. me) to work out more is worth it…plus custom sneaks are better for your heels, arches, ankles, etc.

4- A nice watch. It just makes you feel fancy…and it gives a good impression at the office.

5- Luxe lingerie. The last place you want to look cheap is the bedroom.
